SWF 7th Annual Habitat Trust Golf Tournament & Great Canadian Sausage Cook Off
Thank you to all of the sponsors and everyone who braved the weather and came out to the 7th Annual SWF Habitat Trust Golf Tournament and Great Canadian Sausage Cook Off. It may have been one of the wettest Habitat Trust golf tournaments but it was also the best for the habitat of Saskatchewan.
“Together we raised almost $20, 000 for the Habitat Trust Fund,” said Jim Kroshus, Habitat Trust Program Coordinator.
“We knew it was going to be big again this year when we were sold out a month before the tournament, but the generosity of our members, branches, sponsors and supporters greatly exceeded our expectations.”
One of the draws to the tournament is the Great Canadian Sausage Cook-Off. This year was no exception; however the judging was quite different.
“We had a bit of a down pour about half way through the tournament. Some golfers continued on and some quit. Not all the golfers got to every sausage hole so the voting was not accurate - it was decided to split the prize money - each team received $200,” explained Kroshus.
“Thanks again to Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation, Outlook & District Wildlife Federation & Saskatchewan Bowhunters Association for donating their prize money back.”
