Fisher
Fishers are tree-dwelling weasels of Saskatchewan's coniferous forest. A Fisher's territory may be up to 200 square kilometres. Where logging and trapping have been extensive, Fisher populations have suffered.

Excellent tree-climbers, Fishers are also at home walking on the ground and like most members of the weasel family are very good swimmers. Fishers eat a wide variety of foods including rabbits, snowshoe hares, squirrels, chipmunks, mice and even berries.

Perhaps the most interesting prey item on their menu is porcupine. Although they are experts at flipping a porcupine over to expose its unprotected belly, careless or young Fishers can occasionally be stuck with quills.
