Striped Skunk
Most animals have a colouration that allows them to blend in with their environment; but skunks advertise their presence with bold colours.

This is because the skunk’s defensive musk is an oily liquid that can be sprayed 4 to 5 meters with great accuracy.

Any person or animal that receives a blast of this musk in their eyes will feel intense pain and potentially a temporary loss of vision.

Experienced predators will know better than to cross paths with a black and white weasel! Ironically, humans use skunk musk in making perfumes (after the bad smell is removed of course!).

Skunks are probably the most omnivorous of the weasels.  They eat vegetable matter (including grass lawns), insects, eggs (including many duck nests), mice and anything else they can find.  The skunk’s only major predator is the great-horned owl.
